Science in Application

Overseas field trips can impact students in different ways. For this particular one where the students learned about the Economics of Nature and how science can be used effectively in creating sustainable business and personal practices, the impact went well beyond the conceptual appreciation.

Some thoughts from the students include being changed completely in the way they see nature and how important it is to conserve the environment through the application of science.  "I found out that science can be used more frequently and in many more ways when it comes to conserving the environment."

Others were "shocked at the fact that they had cleaner buildings and places as compared to Singapore.  The ways which they used to reduce pollution is incredible and I really feel that Singapore should learn from them. Their inventions are plentiful and they really taught us to be more innovative and creative."

One student sums up the trip in this way, "It has changed my views of what it’s like to be a leader, how to be a leader, how to get more profit, how to sell and most importantly, how good it is to be with nature."
