Rosyth School Learning Fiesta
Who You Gonna Call?

Lost your pets? Don't worry! Don't Panic! Don't Cry! The Pet Rescuers will brave every danger to rescue your pet!
Pearl, Vanessa and Kester of Rosyth School (Singapore) developed a game called The Pet Rescuers when they went through an entrepreneurship workshop with The Little Entrepreneur ® (TLE). They had set up a mock Pet Care Company and used this board game in order to market their company's services.

After the workshop, the founders of TLE saw the potential of the game and sought partnerships with organisations and commercial entities to publish and market the game as a product in itself. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) decided to take the risk of funding these budding entrepreneurs as they saw the game as an innovative way to raise awareness regarding the care of animals. (Messages were later included into the final design of the board game.)

As of August 1, 2003, the children have successfully sold hundreds of copies, most of them bought by schoolmates during the school's Learning Fiesta where jumble stalls, games and other activities replaced classroom learning for the day. "We want to sell all the games (500 copies) in the next few weeks," Kester piped. And what happens to the earnings? Proceeds will jointly go to SPCA, Rosyth School's Needy Fund and as seed money towards the three developer's next project.

To get your own copy of "The Pet Rescuers" you can visit Rosyth School or SPCA. You can also look out for them at selected pet shops and retail outlets in the mall.
