Trivia for the Week

* Clown fish (also called anemonefish) are called clowns because of the way they dart in and out of the anemones they live in. (Remember that scene in Finding Nemo?)
* Anemones are fish-eating animals that look like undersea flowers and have hundreds of poisonous tentacles. For some reason that scientists have not yet determined, Clown fish are immune to the anemone's poison.
* Since Clown fish are small (about 5 inches at maturity), the anemone protects the Clown fish from most predators of the sea who know not to go near the anemone's poisonous tentacles. In return, the Clown fish cleans the anemone by eating its leftovers, luring prey by darting in and out of the anemone, and perhaps gives it a bit of entertainment.
* In business, this partnership between the Clown fish and the anemone is called "synergy". Both provide mutually beneficial services and are better off having one another.
